My house survived but my god Sarasota looks like a Warzone

Not really a post I wanted to make. Did as much as I can to protect my house. I’m sick to my stomach at the possibility of losing everything. My 1927 wood house with a more modern metal roof is 16-17ft above sea level on the coastal mainland of northern Sarasota. This is my childhood home and I’ve just been through a rollercoaster of emotions this week. I honestly don’t know what I would do if I lost everything…

This hurricane season has been exceptionally challenging, leaving me feeling drained, physically and mentally depleted.
